Start-ups

considering a new business?

We offer two excellent options for anyone thinking about starting new businesses.

1.  Start-up Q & A is a 1-hour conversation where you can explore your business ideas and address basic questions. Join others who share your concerns for a fun and fast-paced open discussion.

One of our Small Business Advisors will answer your questions, introduce you to the many resources available, and help you get started on important first steps. These discussions are a perfect lead-in to our Start-Up Success workshops or a great place to address questions that come up as you're doing your planning.

Q&As are free of charge and open to anyone who wants to explore their entrepreneurial potential. Pre-registration is recommended.

Come prepared with two or three written questions to start the conversation.

We meet from 1:00-2:00 pm at Massanutten Regional Library, 174 S. Main St. Harrisonburg. See the Web Calendar for all the dates.

2. Start-Up Success: Planning your New Business is a 2-hour evening workshop offered once a month

Whether you are thinking about starting a small business or you have already started and realize you may have missed a few things, this is the place to be.

We review the steps to a successful start, the components of sound business planning, and discuss your questions and concerns. Follow-up appointments are then available with SBDC counselors.

We partner with our local chapter of SCORE to offer these workshops. They are held 6:00-8:00pm unless otherwise noted.  See our Web Calendar for all the dates and locations.

Register for any of these sessions here or by calling 540-568-3227.
